Not only does this book include a wide spectrum of personalities throughtout Muslim history, but each person's biography includes what was going on in his/her world. This is the best collection of Muslim biographies that I've seen. Well written, interesting information and set into time and place.

In spite of efforts by the Athenian/Christian culture to suppress it, the New Ionians' method survived and flourished to become what we now call science. The study of human beings and their cognitive and cultural processes has remained the domain of the Athenian philosophers, although they call themselves social scientists. Progress has been slow, and, according to some, nonexistent. In this book, Joseph Woelfel, one of the leading proponents of the scientific study of human thought and behavior, argues that this lack of progress is due to the inadequacy of the underlying Athenian philosophy that pervades the social sciences, and show processes can indeed be studies with the same methods as physical phenomena with great success. After a review of all the Social Science literature commissioned by the U. S. Army, the Rand Corporation concluded: In many ways, Woelfel's theory was the closet that any social science approach came to providing the basis for an end-to-end engineering solution for planning conducting, and assessing the impact of communications on attitudes and behaviors.

great resource

I did not receive the book with the picture on the cover as shown on the website. I received a brown cover so it does not match my set. I was disappointed about that but the contents are the same and I use it quite a bit for my Sunday school lessons. I love the detail and story form that the author uses. It's an older edition but the story NEVER gets old!

The book color was a lighter blue than the rest of my collection.

The book came on time. No problems with the product itself. This book completes my wife's collection. The only problem is the color of this book is a little lighter blue than the rest of her collection. That is not a huge deal to me but it cost a star in my review. But I cannot attribute the color difference to any defect, it was probably a different printing year. The book itself arrived in great condition with no scratches or visible signs of misuse. The book was gently used.

Bible story 2, written by Arthur Maxwell.

I am a supervisor in a non profit Christian school. We rely on gifts and donors to meet our financial needs. Someone donated the Bible Story books and the head supervisor has been reading them every morning. However, when he finished volume 1, he realized he was lacking volume 2. I was delighted to find the book at Amazon at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much.
