Another good e-book in the series. Well worth the price. Shows a lot of the bunkai. Only e-book of its type that I know of. If you don't know why you are doing things in the kata, you can't visualize the opponent, which means you can't be fully effective in practicing the kata to a realistic level necessary for practical self defense.

It's a history book.

This is the second of a two-volume set that are legitimate history books. They aren't light & lively novels, so it's a chore to read them from cover to cover unless you have an abiding interest in digging for factual historical information. I couldn't simply read this work; I had to study it, refering to the footnotes as I went and often looking at a map. An historian will find these volumes quite entertaining, but someone motivated by a more casual interest simply looking for a good story will likely be disappointed. It will help a great deal if you have at least a fair knowledge of the geography of Pennsylvania and regions to the west.

Slusser, and Philip Windsor—focus on the reasons for U.S. action and the methods adopted, on the behavior of other parties, and on the relation between the use of force and the resolution of the crisis. The book's main conclusion is that the demonstrative use of U.S. armed forces has often stabilized a deteriorating situation enough to avoid further deterioration, relieved domestic and international pressure for more drastic and possibly self-defeating action, and gained time for diplomacy to achieve a more lasting remedy.
